DONE! No more! This team is TOO GOOD. And I took it one step FURTHER and added text….and quotes…and a LOGO! I even re-drew Wonder Woman because something was off about the old version. And I went with The Outsiders, because (1) DC doesn’t currently have an Outsiders team (2) Its better than any other ‘old’ team names in DC and (3) I’m lazy about naming things…its happens.
Holy mother of god…. Oh how I need this book in my life.
Also, just as a begging fangirl, have you thought of prints?
I love this.
Despite the typo.
I must be stupid, I’m missing the typo.
There’s a WHAT?! A TYPO!?!? Where…..shit, there it is. *sigh* Fixing it now.
Typo or no, this is rather magnificent.

New Head Canon, read at your own risk of encountering obscure comics knowledge:
This is what happens when Kate finally quits the working for the bastards at the DEO and tries to join Batman, Inc. and Batman is like “You know, ever since I went public with B, Inc. I’m running into the problem that we’re too public. I need the Outsiders again, put a team together.” And she comes back with these ladies and Batman is like “Great!” and privately “Maaaaaaaan now I want to be in the Outsiders. Girls have all the fun…” and then he kicks a pebble.

This was my first ever ‘THIS’ moment in comics, aged about eleven and reading Batman comics for the first time ever. Essentially this is a moment when Renee tells Batman she’s going to handle Two-Face her way and he backs off and lets her do so. Then she talks Two-Face down and gets him to keep helping people with her in the aftermath of Cataclysm. Pointing out he has already been helping and that he doesn’t need to toss the coin again, the decision has been made he just has to finish what he started.
She managed to pacify Harvey without violence; she manages to reach him within the parameters of his own method of making choices. And she persuades him to let her keep hold of the coin which is fairly unheard of. Renee is just a normal cop at this point, but she deals with one of Gotham’s biggest criminals without panic, she makes Batman listen to her and let her do things her way, and he leaves her be. Batman trusts her to deal with the situation involving one of his greatest enemies and considering this is BATMAN it’s pretty impressive. As an eleven year old girl this moment stayed with me a very long time. It might not be the most dramatic or flashy moment but it helped me realise that you don’t have to solve things with violence if you don’t have to, and that Renee Montoya is one of the biggest bamfs in Gotham and probably the DC universe as a whole.

When I find a thing that should probably just be on my personal blog but is relevant to this tumblr as well, I try to just post it on my personal blog. Except for Renee Montoya, and Cassandra Cain. My giant, glaring weaknesses.
Renee Montoya beating the shit out of people
This is probably why I’m always going to love Renee Montoya. Because every time she righteously beat the shit out of some crook or sleaze, it was presented as a sign that she had some real issues with anger. You know, unlike every time Batman (who I also love) has ever beat the shit out of somebody almost ever. The hurdle Renee jumped to become a superhero was getting over her personal issues with loss and anger, not forging a crime fighting identity motivated solely by those emotions.
