I’ll have been reading comics for 18 years this winter. Still get asked pretty frequently. (The first comic I ever bought was Vampire Princess Miyu #3, but I quickly became mainly a Marvel girl.)
We all get asked it, we all hate it. I agree with the poster up there who gets cranky when a customer will ignore my offer for help but accept it from a male coworker - and then said coworker assumes I didn’t ask them. It happens to me almost daily. I hate it!
