“And Marvel’s announcement was as awesome as promised— they are starting a new all-female Avengers book! Coming in May to coincide with their Secret Wars event, the A-Force will include She-Hulk, Dazzler (!), and Runaways’ Nico Minoru (!!!!!!!), written by G. Willow Wilson and Angela: Asgard’s Assassin’s Marguerite K. Bennett, with art by New Thor’s Jorge Molina.

Wilson said that they’ve "purposefully assembled a team composed of very different characters–from disparate parts of the Marvel U, with very different power sets, identities and ideologies.” Bennett added that their heroines “embody the ideals of what we can each strive to be.” The women will be faced with problems like what they must sacrifice for success, and what being a hero is worth.

A-Force will also introduce a brand-new superhero called Singularity, who series editor Daniel Ketch says will “push the boundaries of diversity in comic books even further.” Perhaps… dare we wish… a trans woman superhero??“

this movie is literally about an attractive woman who loves to party having to prove over and over again that she’s also intelligent and hard-working to those who judge her based on her looks (who also empowers and fights for other women, and fosters unlikely friendships instead of engaging in girl hate) and if you don’t think that’s some great feminist shit then I don’t know what your problem is

A She-Hulk television show in the style of Ally McBeal is basically a thing I’d collect the Dragon Balls for. I’ve always loved the triple bridge her character makes between the hypermasculine-coded world of superheroes, the intellectual world of legal studies, and a third set of traits that are often considered the exact opposite of both the masculine and the intellectual: a woman who likes partying and casual sex. I was very interested in seeing how that concept might play out if you replaced “Ally McBeal” with “Bridget Jones” and aimed it at a mass female audience.
